After 16 days of wandering, we are pointed towards home. There’s something to be said for parking in a place with your home on wheels and then doing all the roads trips and sightseeing at a relaxed pace. We revisited some favorite stops, explored all the seafood places to dine, and chilled in the campground in the fishing village of Garibaldi on the Tilamook Bay. Just a few more photos to wrap up your tour of the Oregon Coast.
One of the most picturesque stops on the Coast is Ecola State Park. The rugged, tree covered cliffs and haystack rocks combine to make a dramatic piece of scenery and an awesome place to hike around. I also snagged a photo of the Tilamook Rock Lighthouse (also nicknamed “Terrible Tilly”) near Cannon Beach. If you’d like to know more about how it came to be that they put a lighthouse on a big piece of basalt rock out in the ocean, here’s a link to her story and how she got her nickname: Terrible Tilly. And finally a photo or two of Cape Meares Beach on a very foggy day. Fog can be a big part of the landscape depending on the mood of the weather.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos of the last couple weeks. The next big adventure will be to Alberta and British Columbia in August - more photos to come, no doubt!
Glad I was along for the ride! You’re the best.
What a great trip. Appreciate that you took time to share photos and wrote about your adventures. Thank you for doing this.
