Your photo taking is just a kaleidoscope of your talent Cathey. We all who write or take photos , sing or act on stage find how colorful we all are. This helps us enjoy the diversity of others. Thanks lady friend.
I always love the close up pictures you take on anything it is the coolest to look at. I only used my cell phone and you have given me some great advice on how to get it. I only own a little digital camera with a chip and still have it except I haven’t used them lately. My phone is very handy.
The joy of a digital camera is you can take so many photos and don’t have to pay to get them developed. When I first started taking photos you had a finite number of photos that you could take. Then there was the expense of having them developed. Since I was one of the high school’s yearbook and newspaper photographers the school paid for everything. It was a great way to get to know what worked and to learn the camera settings.
Cathey, as I was taking my walk this morning, the notification came about your new post. I stopped to read it...as I was reading I thought this is what I was doing on my walk, noticing the little things around me. There were glistening raindrops on the thin blades of grass, a pair of robins hopping in the puddles, the sounds of the red-winged blackbirds created music and even though the skies were grey, it was an awesome walk. I have been reading "The Creative Act: A Way of Being" by Rick Rubin, just finished reading about the gift of awareness..like you said tuning in to the small things, appreciating the wonders of life. Thanks for another sign, that I need to be more attuned to things around me, inside and outside!
Thank you for commenting here, Linda. Sometimes life is so busy that we forget to slow down and pay attention to the small things that add joy to our lives. I try to spend time outside most morning so I can take in the pretty around me.
Cathey, you amaze me with your writings and poems. I can usually count on a picture or two as well. Keep up the great work, you definitely have a knack for it. Never under sell yourself about taking photos. I am never disappointed! By the way, I love that your husband commented.
Thank you so much, Elise! Your comment came just when I needed to hear it. One of those days when those sneaky doubts want to creep in. My hubby is incredibly supportive. He doesn't comment here often, but he tells me all the time. I am blessed to have a lot of people giving me the courage to keep going.
Cathey~ you are very talented in that your photographic eye and your writer’s mind align. Your photos always capture something beautiful that is either your mind’s expression in a picture or the writer in you beautifully describes what you’ve captured with your camera. Your work never disappoints!
I guess I've never thought of it that way before and that's a lovely compliment! It's good to know that my mind is still in sync in some way because a lot of days I think it's very scattered. 😜😂
The flower definitely pulled me in to ponder the beauty and intricacies. A HUGE reminder how fulfilling it is when I draw in to listen to our Heavenly Father. ❤️
Cathey - after reading this, it makes me want to get my camera out and just start shooting again to see what I could come up with. I used take pictures of the wonderful scenery around me, but I just stopped for some reason. I think with this substack from you, it makes me want to pick it up again. Beautiful pictures showing today - thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day 😊 🤗
I love this Cathey, even though I use my phone to take pictures I love the pictures I take. I’m still learning. I’ve had some that are not quite as good but good ones too. I’ll keep practicing and try to wow someone as well. My be even you.😂
Yes!! Please share your photos. I love seeing what other people see. And phones take amazing photos now and even have some basic editing features to enhance what you take.
I have loved seeing your photos. I also love taking photos of nature. I just use my mobile to take photos and try to get close ups when something catches my eye. Once in awhile a photo will work out and won't be blurry. It is a thrill when that happens.
You have a good eye, Christine and phones now can capture great photos and can even edit them a bit to bring out the best. I love seeing the photos you take and can't wait to see what you capture on your trip!
Thanks Cathey. You always give me a boost and are so supportive of me.🙏💖🤗💟
Looks like I'll be heading into some wet weather upon my arrival in Canada. So, I probably won't get very good photos on Grouse Mountain or when I go on my Whale watching tour from Victoria. Pray the weather improves for me.
Oh boy, weather on the Island is always hit or miss. Hope you do get some sunshine, especially for the whale watch! But either way, it will be an awesome experience. Hope you see some orcas!

Thanks always for all your support and encouragement! I really like the idea of the kaleidoscope. May have to play with that idea......

Phones these days take really great photos. I actually still use my phone a lot because you're right, it's so darn handy!

You aren't kidding. Digital cameras were the best invention! I'm loving our amazing new zoom lens. ❤️
