I’ve shared a few times about how I had to give up something familiar that was no longer serving me to find a new and better purpose and direction. It doesn’t mean the process was easy and not scary and painful. Sometimes it’s when you let go, take the leap, and land on the other side that you come to understand that standing still in fear can be the thing that holds you back from living your best life. What do you need to let go of so that you can lean into your passion and purpose? Maybe that time is now. That new and better purpose and direction might be just around the corner. You might not be able to see it yet, but it’s waiting for you. And just maybe there’s a lighthouse in your life that will help guide your way.
Broken and beaten down Undervalued, unappreciated, restrained. Stressed out, burned out, confidence circling the drain. Wondering who I am now. Before I thought I knew. Now questioning my own value, what I’m supposed to do. A beacon of hope, a carrier of light breaks through the fog of defeat. Like a lighthouse in the dense confusion; a confirming message on a beach. Indecision washed out in the receding tide, I now know what I must do, no longer can I hide. I am worthy and enough. I am strong and unfurled. I can find a new direction, a new purpose in the world. Uncovered, unveiled, ready to rise, seeing my own vision with clear eyes. Aligned, inspired, empowered, free. In the loss I found the strength to be me.

Love this poem, Cathey! When I was a school guidance counselor, I used the Lighthouse logo as a symbol of Hope for the students who were beaten & broken down. I used it on notes I sent them, teachers' doors that signified safe spaces, bulletin boards with helpful pamphlets. The kids loved the huge lighthouse lamp in my office. I have to admit that lamp that looked like the Lighthouse on Sanibel helped me let go of worldly problems when I couldn't get to the island to sit under the actual iron savior. Thanks for bringing back hopeful memories this morning. xoxo
I have painted lighthouses. I love how they point the lost to shore. They never complain they just shine. Like you.
