Love this poem, Cathey! When I was a school guidance counselor, I used the Lighthouse logo as a symbol of Hope for the students who were beaten & broken down. I used it on notes I sent them, teachers' doors that signified safe spaces, bulletin boards with helpful pamphlets. The kids loved the huge lighthouse lamp in my office. I have to admit that lamp that looked like the Lighthouse on Sanibel helped me let go of worldly problems when I couldn't get to the island to sit under the actual iron savior. Thanks for bringing back hopeful memories this morning. xoxo

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that it sparked memories for you of your special lighthouse moments. We are heading back to the Oregon Coast in a few weeks and I can't wait to visit some of my favorites!

I have painted lighthouses. I love how they point the lost to shore. They never complain they just shine. Like you.

For a long time I didn't even recognize that I was lost in the fog. I just kept doing what was expected of me and not recognizing that it was eating my soul. I truly hope you find that lighthouse who will help you navigate your way into your best life. ❤️

Cathey, this is so beautifully written and a truly touching life story. I'm so blessed to have you in my life. Your final stanza is the Cathey Cone I've come to know and love ... "strong and unfurled " ... "Aligned, inspired, empowered, free."
